Paragraph of the Week: Writing Prompts

Paragraph of the Week: Writing Prompts

Writing prompts · Grades 6–12 · PDF + slides · $9.99

A slide deck of 60 paragraph-writing prompts, one per slide, split into three sets of 20: narrative, informational, and opinion. That's enough for a weekly paragraph all year, with extras to swap in.

It opens with a brainstorming slide that lays out the paragraph structure students use every week: topic sentence, explanation, example. Each prompt slide has a short, kid-friendly title ("TRUE DETECTIVE," "DUOLINGO?," "CANCEL VIDEO GAMES?") to get them talking before they write.

Prompts range from "You find a mysterious door in your house" to "How does the electoral voting system work?" to "Should students have homework over the weekends?" Each section ends with blank slides so you can add your own.
