Intro to Short Constructed Responses (SCR)
$5
Grammar lesson · Grades 7–10 · Slides + printable foldable · $5
Commas 411 boils comma use down to the four rules students actually need, each set up as a 'case': the List Lover's Comma, the Connector Comma, the Opener Comma, and the Extra Info Comma. It's for grades 7-10 and works as a quick grammar lesson or a reset before a writing unit.
Each case slide gives the rule, correct and wrong examples, and a '611 Grammar Tip' for the common mistake, like no comma with two items or no comma when the second part isn't a full sentence. The last slide has three ways to practice: Fix the Sentence, Where's the Comma, and Comma Confessions, where students write their own sentences and have a partner check them.
Students fill in the printable foldable as you go, with a panel for each case, so they walk out with a reference sheet.
