Alternative Ending: "The Lady, or the Tiger?"

Alternative Ending: "The Lady, or the Tiger?"

Creative writing · Grades 7–10 · Word (.docx), opens in Google Docs · $1.50

Stockton never tells us which door it was. In this creative writing task, students decide.

They pick the princess, the young man, or the king and write a 2-3 page narrative in MLA format from that character's point of view. They retell the lead-up to the climax, choose the lady or the tiger, and show what happens next, while keeping Stockton's tone and style and letting readers inside the character's head.

What's included

  • One-page assignment with directions and five instructions
  • Three point-of-view choices: the princess, the young man, or the king
