Ten brand-new spring stories: a community garden, puddle day, baby lambs, field day, an Earth Day cleanup, a butterfly hatching, a science fair and learning to ride a bike. Each passage is 230–260 words with numbered paragraphs, a problem and solution, dialogue and a character who learns something.

Every story has a full question page: three multiple-choice questions, a vocabulary-in-context question, a written theme question and one rotating activity (True or False, Story Order, Character Web, Fill in the Blank or What Do You Think?). A Common Core standards page and an answer key with summaries are included.
