Glitch Fix: The Editing Arcade · 40 Fix-It Paragraphs for STAAR Revising & Editing
Task cards + slides · Grades 5–8 · PowerPoint (36 slides) + PDF (38 pages), ZIP · $7
Editing practice that feels like a game. Every paragraph in Glitch Fix has been hit by a glitch, and students are the debuggers. Regular levels hide exactly 5 bugs and boss levels hide 6, so students know what they are hunting for. They mark each fix with proofreading marks and finish with a Power-Up writing challenge.
The four worlds build real STAAR conventions skills: Capital Crash (capitalization), Punctuation Panic (commas, apostrophes, dialogue, end marks), Grammar Gauntlet (agreement, tense, irregular verbs, pronouns, confused words) and Sentence Smash (fragments, run-ons, comma splices and combining). Two STAAR-style Revising & Editing Quests add 16 multiple-choice questions on transitions, combining, adding and deleting sentences and conclusions.
A Bug Field Guide names the rule behind every bug, and the answer keys tag each fix with its rule. The 36-slide neon arcade deck teaches each world with a Power-Up rules slide, then runs live debug rounds with a reveal slide that lights up every correction.
