The Most Dangerous Game: 20 Exit Tickets
Assessment · Grades 8–10 · Slides · $3 or included with All-Access
A set of quick checks I run all the way through "The Most Dangerous Game." Each slide is one exit ticket, so you can pull whichever fits that day's reading. Built for grades 8-10.
The first tickets are STAAR-style Part A/Part B vocabulary-in-context items (appraising, quarry, futile) with words linked to Merriam-Webster. Two short excerpt tickets ask about Zaroff's characterization and about tone and foreshadowing. The rest are short-answer prompts on conflict, author's purpose, irony, symbolism, mood, ethics, survival skills, theme, character, the double meaning of "game," and prediction.
There's also a 10-question open-ended quiz in a Google Doc, with an answer key that points students back to where the evidence is in the story.
