Free Scavenger Hunts: Alphabet, Numbers, Shapes and Sight Words

Printable activities · Grades Pre-K–3 · PDF, 14 pages · Free

Get kids moving and out of their seats! These scavenger hunts work around the classroom, around the house, on a school walk or as weekend homework. Students hunt for each item, color it on the page when they find it, and write or draw what they found.

The Alphabet Hunt has outlined letters A to Z to color. The Number Hunt covers 1 to 20. The Flat Shape Hunt has 8 shapes and the Solid Shape Hunt has 6 solids (cube, sphere, cylinder, cone, rectangular prism and pyramid).

Five Sight Word Hunts follow the Dolch lists from pre-primer to 3rd grade. Students search books, magazines, labels and signs, and fill in a tally circle each time they spot a word. There's also a Color Hunt, a Nature Hunt for outdoor time, and an A–Z Scavenger Challenge for older students. Every page is black and white with a friendly character, and there's an "I found ___ out of ___" self-check at the bottom.
