Live team writing game for the classroom

How it works & FAQ

Write Royale turns writing practice into a live team game. Students write on any device, vote for their team's best piece, and the finalists battle on the board while the class votes. It includes 79 original challenges, from STAAR short constructed responses to thesis practice and creative prompts.

How it works

  1. Pick a challenge and a mode: Solo Showdown, Round Robin or Squad Write.
  2. Students join at lootdroplessons.com/royale with the game code and write on any device.
  3. Teams vote for their best piece, then finalists battle on the board while the class votes.

What you get

  • 79 original challenges: STAAR SCR passages for every TEKS reading skill, paragraph building, thesis practice and creative prompts
  • Solo Showdown, Round Robin (swap for each step, great for SCRs) and Squad Write (a shared live page, every writer in their own color)
  • Power-Up Round: students revise and edit a classmate’s writing after the game
  • Watch every student write live and send live comments; turn writing help on or off any time
  • Solo practice: one student, no code needed
  • Profanity filter and auto-hold for texts that name a classmate
  • Pro: Round Robin, Squad Write and the Power-Up Round, custom challenges, 12 rounds, 150 players, export
